Softball Tournament

On Sunday last week I had a softball tournament and we versed 3 other teams so there was 4 teams in total, We played PCU and to riccarton teams.

The first team we versed was PCU they were the best team in the tournament and we lost that game then we played riccarton and we won that game 3-2.

The we versed the last riccarton team and we tied that game then we had a break and then we found out that we didn’t make it into the finals because it was for the team that won their last game they had and we won but not by enough points so we came third.

Then we all found out that two people in our team made it to the south island team and the canterbury team we were all proud of them.

Then on saturday last week we had to play PCU and we lost that game because we only had one person get home but we had fun.

The positions I play are Center outfield, Left outfield and 3rd base and first base, and sometimes when I am off I go behind the fence and sometimes I help the catcher by standing behind them just in case the ball goes behind them.

The thing I like about softball is it is fun and it gets you out of the house so what if you get hurt everyone should play it is a really fun game and I will recommend it for people that love to smack balls with a bat and I never give up.

Just because I lose it is still fun because I get to meet some of the greatest people and I made some new friends.

Next season I am going to play and I am going to be under 15 next season

Hurumanu - Renewable Energy

Aim: To make a Solar Powered Oven.

Materials: 

1.  Sellotape
2. Scissors 
3. Pizza Box 
4. Straw
5. Marshmallow
6. Biscuit
7. Glab Wrap
8. Tinfoil
9. Black Plastic
10. Ruler
11. Vivid Pen
12. News Paper

Steps:

1. Cut out the flap on the lid of the pizza box so that it is 5cm around the edge.
2. Sellotape some tinfoil on the inside of the flap.
3. Sellotape some glad-wrap so that the hole you have cut on the pizza box lid is covered over with glad wrap.
4. Put a piece of black plastic on the bottom of inside the pizza.
5. Make a paper square that fits inside of the pizza box and lays around the edge.
6. Put a marshmallow on top of a chocolate biscuit, place it on a plastic plate and put it in the solar oven.
7. Put it in the sun to cook.

Conclusion

We haven't finished the experiment because the smores haven't had time to cook because of the weekend and the Monday we had off so we couldn't put in the sun and come and check on it so yeah we are finishing them today.

Solar Energy

Aim: To find out which colour attracts the suns heat.

Hypothesis: 

I think that the silver is going to heat better because it is tin foil it is metal.

Materials:

1.  x3 cups (x1 plastic cup x2 styrophome cup)
2.  x1 tin foil paper
3.  x1 paper
4.  x1 black plastic
5.  x1 thermometer
6. x1 heat lamp

Steps

1.  Get your 3 cups 
2.  Put the tin foil cup on the tin foil
3.  Put the plastic cup on the plastic
4.  Put the white cup on the white paper
5.  Pour the water in the cups 1/4 way
6. Turn the heat lamp on and put it in front of all the cups
7. Put a timer on for 15 minutes and wait
8. When that 15 minutes is up put the thermometer in the cup for 1 minute then  take it out for 1 minute and see what it is
9. Do all the other cups
10. Record your findings
11. Lastly do your conclusion

Conclusion

In this picture there is three cups with different things on it one has nothing on it and the other two have tin foil or a plastic bag and they are on the top of the colour of the cup.

Today for my blog I am going to talk about what I am doing in art, we have been making clay models because we are making a movie about Aliens vs Humans as you already know but we are right now making the Aliens then after we have done that we are going to make the Humans, Here is some photos of the Aliens

Next time I make a blog post I will have the Humans in it with the Aliens, The thing that is difficult for my group is making the Humans that is why we don't have a photo of them but we are working on them, it is really fun to make the movies because you get to play with clay and do blogging about it.

Today I am going to be talking to you about what I did today first I am going to be talking to you about singing, we sung so many songs and we were really good (some of us), in October we are going to be have a performance with every other school that does choir.

And more that I forgot, Next thing I am going to talk about is Media and what it is, Media Team is this team and we talk about what we are going to make using devices and we make movies and on Friday we are going to the ki o rahi tournament and we are going to be recording some games and talking about it aswell.

Last thing I am going to be talking to you about is Kapa Haka, In kapa haka we are learning a new song called whakaorogo (I am going to be putting a link in for the song for you to listen), we are also learning the actions and we got put into three different groups, Lead, High, Low, there is 4 boys in the Low and there is 5 Girls in the High and the rest in the lead.

C.I.P Week 7

Today we were painting rocks and doing something fun with them and I made one it took so much time and I hate it but you might like it, we were doing this because it was raining and we couldn't go outside so we painted rocks and this is mine.

Movie making in Hurumanu

In Hurumanu we are making movies and I am in a group of 2 with Brianna we are making a movie about aliens vs Humans and the aliens try to take over the world but then they find out the aliens ruler becomes mates with the human and our main characters are Bob and Jeff, when the find out they all become friends and have a bbq.

In our groups we usually have roles but in our group we do a bit of everything so we get it done, right now we are up to drawing the characters for what they are going to look like,and we are also drawing the arrows for where they are going to move and what the camera angle is going to look like.
