Athletics Day!

Yesterday was Athletics day. There was Shot put, Sprints, Long distance, Discus, High Jump and Long Jump. First We did Sprints and I made it to Finals I came 1st in sprints came 1st in Long distance and 3rd in Discus. I was really proud of myself when I did it I was really scared and nervous. But when I did it I was really proud. My favourite part of the day was when I had two breaks. My goal for next year is to get better at high Jump.

Kia ora, I am going to tell you what I know about softball and when it was invented and first played. I hope you enjoy my Information report.

What is softball?

Softball is a sport that uses bats and balls. The balls are called softballs. Softball is like baseball but the pitcher pitches differently. We use metal bats and baseball uses wooden bats.

The history about softball.

Softball was invented in Chicago in 1887. The person who invented it was George Hancock. He died in 1899. George Hancock was the first person ever to play softball and now everyone plays it. Softball is a really fun game to play. The New Zealand Black Sox softball team won the softball world cup this year so our team is the best in the world.

Softball gear

The softball gear is bats, balls, helmets, Catchers gear and gloves. They play on a field called a diamond which has four bases. First base is white and red and the second and third bases are just red. Home base is black and that is the base that you start on.

       

How many grades are there?

There are heaps of grades. T ball mixed, under 9, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, the wild hogs adults team and the mixed adults team.

How are Softballs made?

Softballs are not soft they are really hard if it hits you in the stomach it will hurt. Here is a video showing how softballs are made.

Hitting tips.

1. Hit between your waist and chest
2. Hit it when it goes over the home plate
3. Swing and put your foot in front of you
4. When you get three strikes and the Catcher misses the ball when you try and hit it you run as fast as you can to first base

The Rules for Softball

• Have two teams of nine players
• Aim to hit it far away so you can get all the way around
• The Defending team tries to defend the runners and get three outs
• Both of the team's innings ends with one out

My Last time at Canterbury Swim School.

Hi Today is my last time at Canterbury Swim School We are doing water safety. I have mastered my goal and it was to get better at doing rolly polys in the water. One of our coaches are going to going to pretend they are drowning and we have to help them by using a towel a noodle a bucket or a humongous bottle. Next we jumped off a diving board in to the deep blue pool. When we Jumped off the diving board We done Survival Back Stroke. I was so happy.

My coach said to me not to stop swimming lessons because I am good at swimming

My First time at Canterbury Swim School.

Hi Guys Today I went to Canterbury Swim School and I have the Best Instructor his name is Andrew He said That I am the best Swimmer in the Group. I have  7 People + Me in the group and here are there names  Sophia , Anthony, Shelizeh, Tom, Nature, Risha, Shanarnia and My Self. My Next Goal is to get better at doing roly polys in the water. Hi Guys today I done a screencastify about my maths and I am doing fractions I hope you like my video.

The sky was as blue as the sea and the music was calm and relaxing, The clouds were as pink as cotton candy and Ice cream. All the birds were delivering special things to people. I think I am going to have a bad day because the cloud I work with makes dangerous stuff, first there was a Green scary crocodile got put into a white sack after that there was a Brown and white goat that got put in a pretty white sack.

The Dark grey cloud made a hedgehog and it was very very prickly I screamed OUCH That is really sore. When I came back I saw all of the other clouds having fun then I flew away and I then I asked if I could have some football clothes so I don’t get hurt.

Then I went back to the dark cloud when he was crying then I made him happy again. He made an electric eel and we were a happy family

I was in a blank white and green room. Hi my name is ormie and I am 10 years old I was walking in a room. Then I smelt something it was cookies so I looked on top of the fridge.

There they were on top of the fridge so I tried climbing to get them. Then I used a broom and it did not work. So I used a stool that did not work and then some ice fell on me and I had a glass in my hand. Then I Tried some books and An Ironing table and A bowling ball.

Then I used some boxes to make stairs so I could climb up. I also had a bib on. Then I used a trampoline and I made a hole in it. Then I used some plunges and I climbed up and then the fridge opened.

There was an old man and he was thinking about his old job as a medic and his wife and his childhood. He saw his wife and his wife's name is ally and his name is jorge.

Because he played the song that he is doing at his mums funeral and at his wife’s funeral and it was the first thing he learned for his mum. He also made a funeral for all the people that died in the army.

So he was living by himself and he was so lonely so someone started living with him. It was a man so he was not lonely any more. “He said yay someone is living with us now.”

He was so happy and he said to his room mate I am going to die soon because I have cancer and I hope you find someone to live with you. So thank you for taking my house for me.

Then he died at the hospital and the last word he said was bye and then he went u to heaven with his wife and mum. His mum said “hi my son” and his wife said “Hi my husband” and then he said “hi mum and my wife.”

Then he had a funeral and he was played his favorite song and he had his friends and children. His friend played his favorite song and he got buried beside his mum.

One day it was a really snowy morning and all of the amazing shops were covered in snow, Hi my name is Alma I am a 12 year old girl. When I turned 12 I Was skipping because I was excited to write on the blackboard because it is a national thing. Then this doll caught my eye because it looked exactly like me.

Then it was gone off the pillow and then I looked in all of the windows and then I found it so I tried to get in threw the door but it was locked so I threw a snowball then the door opened so I went inside and had a look at it then there was a toy by my feet.

So I picked it up and then the doll was gone again so I had a look at my feet and all around the shop. Then I found it. It was in all of the scary dolls. Then when I touched the doll it had a flashback so it started blinking so I ran out of the shop and will never go back in there again

The Girl in the red coat.

I was in a humongous city called Paris, I did not like Paris because it was boring it was boring and disgusting because people eat snails and frog legs. It is easy to lose something in this gigantic city. I wish I could move to another city that is smaller.

Hi my name is Millie and I am a seven year old girl and I always wore a red coat because I love red. The coat is as red as an apple. I was in a carnival and I got candy floss to eat it was 5 colours tall, it was so big. Then I went to a game that is called shoot the duck. I was excited and my heart was pumping and it felt like it was going to explode as I ran to the game.Then I turned around I could not see my mother and Father. I was scared, terrified and nauseous.

Then this nice and helpful lady came and took me to the help centre because she knew that I was scared. They helped me find my parents by talking on the microphone and said “ This girl in a red coat lost her parents can they come to the help centre”. Then they came running to the help centre. I said “ I will never run off like that again.” my parents said I will always listen to you Millie. We should go home and have dinner. We are having yummy dinner.

We are having takeaways for dinner. Takeaways is Maca’s BK KFC Hot Chips. I want to have Maca’s. When we finished eating our dinner we went to bed.

Buster the boxer.

“Hi my name is Buster and I am a dog.”

I was sitting in my best friends room watching her jump on her bed and she was so happy because she was getting a trampoline. I went into the lounge and sat down.

I saw the animals were jumping on my best friend’s new trampoline I was so angry “I said it should be me on that tramp ?”

When I woke up I saw the trampoline and the door opened so I went out the door and leaped in the air and tumbled on the trampoline and started bouncing on it and my owners were petrified but I was happy. I was barking as I was jumping on the trampoline.

Then my friend Zowie joined me on the trampoline it was so much fun then we went inside for the presents and we had breakfast We had pancakes for breakfast they were yummy.

Then we opened the presents and I got a new bed and new toys. My friend got A new trampoline and new clothes I was so happy and so was my best friend. When we finished opening the presents my best friend had a hot chocolate and I had warm milk.

I was gliding on the amazing blue sea on my cargo ship. Hi my name is Captain Jack I love being the captain because you can tell your ship workers to stop working for 10 minutes and you get to see everything in the world.

Then I saw a white little boat it was coming closer and closer. Then I saw 31  African men and they came on the ship and I think they are Annoying old pirates.

The boss of their group said I am the captain now and give me the key and so I gave him the key before he hit me and then the scary robots came out.

They fought all 31 pirates and then the leader of the robot’s gave back my hat from the pirates and said bye my captain then they went in their shipping containers. When we arrived at the place where the robots go. Then I said leave them here I want to keep them. Just in case we get robbed or the ship get’s taken like the pirates did.

Adventures are the pits.

My armpits are sweaty like hot water my face is as red as a apple I was reluctant and scared. I  was screaming as I went down the Bright orange slide. Then I went into colourful ball pit I went so deep. After I hit the ground and a  lollipop stuck onto my face, so I tried to get it off it came off straight away.

I started to climb back up but it was no use I was running out of breath. but I kept on trying and trying Then I saw a plaster it fell on my mouth. I tried to get it off I got it off but I fell then I grabbed onto a stick that held me. I was pulling myself up it got harder and harder by the minutes, but I was not giving up so I pulled the stick out of the wall and dug it back in. and done it till I got to the top.

Then I saw my mum she said I was looking for you and said let’s go home and have dinner What did you do today I said I went down the slide and fell in the ball pit and it went so deep it took me like 6 minutes to get back up and I saw a skeleton and a deep hole and like you say whatever goes in a hole never comes out.

I never want to do that again. I will never go back there it is scary if we go back there i am not playing at the playground I will rather go thru the drive thru and get the food or stay in the car we’ll you get the food.

Let’s go home and have something else like nachos or mc donalds or even Burger king. I just don’t want to go there my mum said let me go down the slide and then my mum was at the top of the ball pit my mum said it was just your imagination.

I am going to look for my 6 brothers and their Princess brides. I wish I was  big like all of the giants But I’m just like thumbelina, it is so cold and I live in a flower.

I was in a dark spooky forest and I was frozen and cold. I wanted my brothers and my mum.  I found something on the ground, it was a sword so I picked it up and I put it in my bag.

I started walking and then I heard something, it was a giant. “Help me!” I screamed. He was trying to kill me, so I ran as fast as I could. But my legs are so tiny……. I kept running and suddenly in the distance I saw something it was a castle.

I went inside  I could crawl under the door. I saw my 6 brothers and their Princess brides. “I found you yay Who stole you?” A giant? “yes I was so scared because he is going to eat us in a sandwich”. Said one of my brothers.

“Your lucky I’m here because I can get you out now. With a sword” “but you don’t have one.” “yes I do because I found one on the ground.” “Wow I wish I had one” “I will get you he is buttering his bread now so hurry up he is coming.”

Then I got them free then we got out and he was finished. “He is chasing us so hurry here get in the flower”

We did and he went passed us we are saved and then we slept there for a night.

Then when it was the morning the beautiful sun came out. We had water on the beautiful green leaves and when we got home our mum was not there. A giant stole our mum so went to find our mum but she was in the backyard.

“We thought a giant stole you” “No not me, a giant came to our house to have dinner with us.” “Why he is going to eat us in a sandwich like he done with my 6 brothers and their beautiful princess brides.”

“No he is not he is friendly and nice because he helped me with my gardening and look and all of the pretty flowers and helped me cook this amazing dinner so say thank you to him because you could of done it by yourself but he wanted to help.”

Maybe I will it might have poison in it when I had baked beans they had chopsuey wanted chopsuey but mum said no because you were being mean to our guess.

I am sorry for being mean to you I just get furious sometimes because my dad died because of your kind they squashed him he was a very caring dad.

He was mean sometimes but always nice and always played with us. I wish he came back alive I miss him so so much he will always be in my heart.

My story.

Spencer Park recount.

Last week Hornby Primary School got on the bus to Spencer Park for an experience.  We did lots of fun stuff first we went to the playground was so amazing so we played there and we all had so much fun.

Then we saw the beach looks incredible the waves are amazing. We collected some sea shells and we saw some jellyfish they looked  so yucky. Then when we got some sea shells we had some morning tea.

After that we went for a long walk to look at the amazing birds and the spider nests. We saw something it was big it was a lookout so we could the birds legs and the teachers took photos of us. It was time to go back to the park.

 We got back to the campground The people that was in my group had some yummy lunch and when we finished our lunch we got to play for little bit.

Then we heard a  whistle we had to go back to the teachers. Cause it was time to go back to school. When we got back to school we could go on our chromebooks or play maths games.

My learning goals 2017.

Hi these are my learning goals for 2017. I showed my parents and they were so so happy they heard I was doing really well in reading, writing and maths. I hope you enjoy.

  

Ruin.

This week we have been writing a story. Here is mine I hope you love it.

Once upon a time there was an abandoned ugly city and I lived there it looked like a jungle. It was called Haven Nanosystem and  I kicked a metal box out of the building. In the box there was an  old phone screen. Then I used my powers to see what was on the old phone. made me I saw felicity B I think they made me, then I heard something.

I started to run then I saw what it was. It was a gyrocopter so I got on my motorbike and headed to the tunnels. I got to the tunnels and the gyrocopter launched two rocket robots and they were trying to kill me with their lasers. I was trying to kill them with rockets that blow up when something go past. We were almost out of the tunnel so I threw my last rocket up on the roof and it stuck there.

I blew up the rockets and the gyrocopter was trying to shoot me with there guns. Then I stabbed it with my electric knife. Then the gyrocopter died and started to fall and then bang it fell on the ground and I lived I thought it was going to land on me but I landed on the gyrocopter . I picked up my knife and walked away.

Maybe I will go to a different country to find out who made me. I think it was someone who worked at  Haven Nanosystem. The person who made me lived here but moved to another country. Hopefully I will find what I am looking for.
